SUMMARY:Adult Leader Training Weekend
DESCRIPTION:A weekend full of training opportunities for the following: \nBALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation):\nCub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event\, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. \nBALOO training consists of two components—an online component and a practical\, hands-on component. You must sleep over night at camp to complete the training. \nBoth components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader. \nThe online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training. \nThe online component must be completed prior to attending the practical component; bring online component completion certiﬁcate and health form part A & B. \nGo to my.scouting.org training site to take the online training portion. \nIOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills):\nCongratulations! You are now a Scouts BSA leader. Soon you will be leading your Troop on numerous outdoor adventures. IOLS is a fun\, hands on training program for adult leaders to help them gain the practical outdoor skills they need to lead scouts into the outdoors. This is required 2  overnight program where participants will learn firsthand about setting up a campsite\, pitching a tent\, hiking\, outdoor cooking\, first aid and leave no trace principles.  All of the skills necessary to lead your Scouts! \nWho can attend:\nAll registered Scouts BSA Leaders.  If you are from out of council\, feel free to join us! \nWhat is Required: \nAll participants must bring a current copy of the BSA Annual Health Medical Record.  You can download a current copy here: https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/ \nWood Badge:\nWood Badge is an advanced\, national leadership course open to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Scouters from Cub Scouting\, Scouts BSA\, Venturing\, Sea Scouts\, Explorers\, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here. \nWhy Should you go? \nStronger units.\nA deeper understanding of what Scouting is and why we do it.\nLearn and experience things that will stay with you in Scouting and the rest of your life.\nFun.\nMake your other groups-like work\, volunteer groups\, even family-stronger.\nPricing: (Course Fee covers both weekends) \n$50 deposit saves your spot\n$ 260 (Early Bird Rate) Ends 8/15\, Must be paid in full by 8/15 for Early Bird Rate\n$ 299 (Regular Rate)\nOut of Council Fee – $25\nRegistering for Weekend 1 will automatically register you for Weekend 2. \nWho can attend: Position trained BSA members\, 18 and older. \nWhat is Required: All participants must bring a current copy of the BSA Annual Health Medical Record (parts A\, B\, and C). You must attend both weekends. \nILST (Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops):\nThe purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to reach success most effectively in that role. It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts and is a replacement for Troop Leadership Training. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). \n  \nParticipates can come for free- but registration is required to attend. Lunch is an option for adults and youth- $10.00 for lunch- Turkey sandwich\, chips\, fruit\, drink and cookie.
