Who should attend
This is a family-friendly camp but it is focused on older scouts. AOL’s will be sleeping in the same tents they used at Spook, at a campsite with the troop. Adults and additional family members will camp away from the troop. Adults can, but are not required to camp. Adults who do not camp are encouraged to join for Saturday activities and meals.
How to Register
Register by Friday, November 15th. No cost for AOLs, $15 for any additional participant covers camping and/or meals. Scouts that are camping are asked to attend a planning session with the troop on Monday, November 18th @ Saint Marks, at 7 PM. Scouts should wear Class A uniforms for this meeting and will plan their weekend menu.
Where to Meet
We will meet at Saint Mark’s at 5:30 PM on Friday, November 22nd. We will travel from Saint Mark’s to Camp Soule with the Troop. This will allow our AOLs to experience how ScoutsBSA camp, as they always meet together and enter the camp as a unit. All scouts should be in class A uniforms.
Saint Mark’s location is 13312 Cain Rd, Tampa, FL 33625
If you are not camping with your AOL, it is ok to get them to Saint Marks and allow them to travel with another adult from our den.
Saturday Activities
The troop is planning activities for Saturday. The activities during the day are focused on older scouts, so younger siblings won’t be able to do much except explore camp, play gaga ball, etc. They can still come and camp, hang out with their parents, and eat with the adults if they want. Parents are not required to camp but are encouraged to come on Saturday for activities and meals. Scouts in class B uniforms.
Our tentative day will be morning flags, breakfast, patrol games, lunch, fun and relaxation, dinner, and evening program. Sunday will be a quick breakfast, flags, and cleanup.
Meals
Scouts are on their own for food on Friday night
All meals on Saturday will be provided. Most prep and cooking will be handled by the troop and our AOL’s. Saturday’s dinner will be smoked turkey with all the sides!!!
Sunday will be a quick breakfast, again prepared by the troop and our AOL’s.
