Adult Leader Training Weekend

A weekend full of training opportunities for the following:

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation):

Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters.

BALOO training consists of two components—an online component and a practical, hands-on component. You must sleep over night at camp to complete the training.

Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader.

The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training.

The online component must be completed prior to attending the practical component; bring online component completion certificate and health form part A & B.

IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills):

Congratulations! You are now a Scouts BSA leader. Soon you will be leading your Troop on numerous outdoor adventures. IOLS is a fun, hands on training program for adult leaders to help them gain the practical outdoor skills they need to lead scouts into the outdoors. This is required 2  overnight program where participants will learn firsthand about setting up a campsite, pitching a tent, hiking, outdoor cooking, first aid and leave no trace principles.  All of the skills necessary to lead your Scouts!

Who can attend:
All registered Scouts BSA Leaders.  If you are from out of council, feel free to join us!

What is Required:

All participants must bring a current copy of the BSA Annual Health Medical Record.  You can download a current copy here: https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/

Wood Badge:

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here.

Out of Council Fee – $25
Registering for Weekend 1 will automatically register you for Weekend 2.

Who can attend: Position trained BSA members, 18 and older.

ILST (Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops):

The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to reach success most effectively in that role. It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts and is a replacement for Troop Leadership Training. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

 

Participates can come for free- but registration is required to attend. Lunch is an option for adults and youth- $10.00 for lunch- Turkey sandwich, chips, fruit, drink and cookie.
